Lindsay Storms L.I.S.T.D., RAD RTS, PBT CERT.
Artistic Director / Instructor
Lindsay has spent well over a decade educating dancers in studios across Southern Ontario, in both competitive and non-competitive settings, specializing in a wide range of dance styles including Modern/Contemporary, Jazz, Ballet and Hip Hop. Lindsay began her dancing career at the age of three in Toronto under the tutelage of Cynthia Fisher, and moved to the Kawartha area at the age of 13, where she continued her studies in R.A.D. Ballet, I.S.T.D. Modern, and Jazz with the Lindsay Dance Studio. After three years of study in languages and anthropology at Trent University, Lindsay returned to the Lindsay Dance Studio, to pursue her I.S.T.D. Associate for Modern and Jazz. Lindsay has since also acquired her R.A.D. Intermediate ballet and her Associate Diploma with the Modern Theatre branch of the I.S.T.D.
After many years of study, Lindsay received her Licentiate status in the Modern Theatre branch of the I.S.T.D. and was awarded the Royal Academy of Dance’s Certificate in Ballet Teaching Studies. Over the years, Lindsay has also had the wonderful opportunity to teach students at many different elementary and secondary schools across Ontario. Lindsay has been entering candidates for I.S.T.D. Modern and Jazz exams for over a decade, and more recently R.A.D. Graded and Vocational exams, all of whom have been successful. Most recently, Lindsay has received certification to teach the revolutionary Progressing Ballet Technique Program. Lindsay looks forward to, once again, being rehearsal master for Ballet Jorgen's upcoming local production of the Nutcracker. Many of Lindsay's students have gone on to work and study professionally at such schools as The National Ballet of Canada, York University and George Brown College, as well as holding featuring roles in television series such as Degrassi and The Next Step.
In addition to her concentration on professional dance training, Lindsay has also been honoured to choreograph many nuptial dances for brides and grooms in the area, as well as award-winning Flashmobs for several local organizations, and continues to do so whenever the occasion arises. Lindsay continues her passion for arts and education by taking courses with world-renowned examiners and choreographers covering various dance disciplines such as hip-hop, lyrical, and contemporary.
Miss. Megan has been an assistant and supply instructor with us since shortly after we opened. She has been a ballet, jazz, and modern student of Miss. Lindsay's for over 15 years, completing many levels of RAD Ballet and ISTD Jazz and Modern exams in collaboration with the Lindsay Dance Studio. She is currently working on her Bachelor of Education with Trent University, but still finds time to assist, and continue her ballet and modern training. We are looking forward to having Miss. Megan on board once again this year!
